I couldn’t believe that this was Aliya’s first published novel! Did her style of storytelling remind you of any other authors whose work you’ve read?
What would you have done in Faiza’s situation? Would you have lied about the emergency fund, or would you have told Tom right from the start? Can you understand why she felt the need to lie?
What did you think about Faiza and Tom’s relationship? Do you think they have a good marriage? What do you think constitutes a good or healthy relationship?
Lies are integral to the plot of this book, they’re right there in the title! Is it ever okay to lie? Are some lies more acceptable than others?
